Work Hours
Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 17:00

In 2019, I had the privilege of undertaking a work trip to Honduras in collaboration with the organization Hope of All Nations, led by Rachel Morris. My primary responsibility was to document the journey of Joshua, a young boy whose life was hindered by stomach-related medical problems. Hope of all nations funded the two crucial surgeries, needed for Joshua to be able to live a normal life as a boy.

The first stage of the process was creating the storyline, ensuring a good narrative that would convey Joshua’s journey to recovery and the impact of Hope of all Nations on his life. On-site, I filmed the entirety of both surgeries, capturing the moment leading up to the surgery, the surgery itself, and the recovery. I worked under Rebecca Kroese during the post-production, with the help of Ross Remedios for the audio and music. Together we conveyed the story of Joshua very well.

This experience was not only professionally enriching but also offered invaluable insights. I discovered the surprising practice of surgeons listening to classical music during operations, highlighting the importance of understanding the environments in which we work. Moreover, I learned firsthand the significance of thorough equipment preparation, recognizing that real emotions cannot be replicated, and so it is necessary to be ready at all times, not just for myself, but also for my equipment!
